Simply Fun.–An Intimate Evening of Thanks
 (with free printables)

“My lover spoke and said to me, ‘Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me.'” — Song of Songs 2:10

Being thankful for each other is such an important part of any good relationship. In marriage, this is especially true.

In this season of thanksgiving, why not plan a special evening for just the two of you? An intimate evening of thanks.

It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or take a lot of preparation. It could just be a quiet, relaxing evening of sharing what you appreciate in each other and being thankful for all God has given you.

As with any Simply Fun. activity, make this idea yours. Use your creativity to make it a special time. Think about what your spouse likes and add those things in–such as a favorite meal or dessert. Think about using all the senses–sight, touch, hearing, taste, smell. Play some favorite music. Light some candles. Fill your space with a wonderful atmosphere that says, “This evening is special.”

I like to make my space a little festive. It just seems to set the mood I’m going for. So, I use decorations and other items to signify this isn’t just our average night. Here are a couple I came up with for our intimate evening of thanks…

Another idea is to send your spouse an invitation to your special evening together. It’s always fun to give them something to look forward to and let them know you are thinking about them. Here’s one I made for my sweetie. Feel free to use it or make up your own special way to build anticipation.

Intimate evenings are all about celebrating the oneness of you together. So during this thanksgiving season, set aside a special time to thank the Lord for your marriage. Show appreciation for and give thanks to your spouse. Celebrate the precious bond the Lord has given you. And by all means, enjoy your evening together!

Simply fun…simply sweet.

Praying you have a wonderful evening!

Grace and peace to you,
